DC Card Collective

Thanks for visiting the DC Card Collective Pop-Up

We are DC-area greeting card makers that have come together to create a virtual pop-up market. This site is meant to serve as a centralized source to find greeting cards and stationery products from local artists and creators.

While we hunker down and wait out this time of isolation in our respective homes, we are all trying our best to nevertheless stay connected to friends and loved ones. Sure, we have social media, phone calls, FaceTime, Zoom parties, Zoom dates, Zoom meetings, Zoom playdates…. So many things.

But people are also connecting in ways they never have before. Families of children (and adults!) whose planned celebrations have been canceled are asking that the honoree be flooded with cards through the mail. Long-overlooked thank-you notes are getting written, and we are finding new gifts to be thankful for. The world is realizing how critical human connections are, and we get it. These connections are what drive our passions, and our businesses.

We want to foster that sense of connection by creating a place for you to shop all of our greeting cards.

Second Story Cards is a boutique greeting card company that elevates the creative talents of homeless women and men. Our business model is simple: create beautiful greeting cards and help our most needy neighbors. The cardmakers receive 15% of each sale and we donate an additional 10% to a nonprofit of their choice in an effort to give back to the organizations that have helped them overcome the challenges they’ve experienced.
